I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and during 1968-69 I was stationed in Korat, Thailand. As a radio operator I was a crewmember on C121s flying reconnaissance missions over the Ho Chi Min Trail and North Vietnam. For three decades following my military service, Vietnam evoked a single word: “WAR”. As a founding member of The D.O.V.E. Fund I now view Vietnam as a “COUNTRY” of hard working people, whose children are in great need of hope for a brighter future. Among the most meaningful experiences of my life are my three D.O.V.E. trips to Vietnam. I became personally acquainted with the overwhelming gratitude and goodwill of the people whose children now have a school to attend, clean water to drink, medical clinics to assist when injured and ill, and funding to start small cottage industries. D.O.V.E. is an organization that provides life-changing opportunities for the most impoverished people in Vietnam in productive and benevolent ways that prove life changing for those who assist in its mission. I invite you to join D.O.V.E. in this truly worthwhile cause. |
