John Abbey

Michigan native John Abbey attended schools in Detroit and Dearborn.  After graduating from high school, Mr. Abbey enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to Vietnam 9 months later.  Following his discharge, Mr. Abbey briefly attended Michigan State University before enrolling in Northeastern University in Boston where he received his BA in 1975.  Upon graduation, Mr. Abbey joined Ford Motor Company and assumed various roles of increasing responsibility in the Human Relations department at several of the firm's operations.  Retiring as an HR Manager in 2005 after 31 years with the company, Mr. Abbey now enjoys time with his two grown children and traveling regularly to Vietnam. He currently serves as chairman of the Maintenance Committee for Vietnam Facilities and is also a member of the Vietnam Veterans Development Committee.  Mr. Abbey resides in Perrysburg, Ohio.
