After a career in music, followed by radio and city government management, Tom Treece is retired and resides in Monroe, Michigan with his wife, Renee, and cherishes time with sons John (Kristi) and Nathan and grandsons, Drake (5) and Gaige (4). The singer, songwriter, guitarist and former MCA Records recording artist heads the Contemporary Christian Music group, “Tom Treece & Cross Point,” and is author and vocalist of their current CD single, “The Wide Road.” He is also a columnist with the Monroe Evening News and, along with Renee founded Guided Ministries that features Tom as singer and public speaker. Tom is author of two books; the first, “The Ghost Closet: Return to Vietnam on the Wings of D.O.V.E.,” is about his 2001 return to build schools in Vietnam with the D.O.V.E. Fund. All proceeds from this book were used to fund and build the Pho Phong Elementary School in the village of Duc Pho near where he served during the war with the Americal Division’s 11th Infantry Brigade. He and Renee traveled to that Asian nation in March 2008 to dedicate the school which now educates 783 children. Tom’s second book - “But What Do I Know? Volume I” - is a seven-year compilation of his weekly newspaper columns. He is currently at work recording a new CD: “One Voice,” and is also writing a new book entitled, “The Mustard Seed,” scheduled for a 2009 release. Tom is active in the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and its music and drama ministries as well as Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1138 and Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 142 of which he is a past president. |
