The D.O.V.E. 2010 Auction
Plans are underway as the D.O.V.E. Fund prepares for its 2010 annual fund raiser on Friday, August 20th. Held at the Pinnacle Banquet center in Maumee, the event will feature live entertainment and a cocktail hour where guests can browse among hundreds of both silent and oral auction items before sitting down to an elegant dinner.
The D.O.V.E. Fund Annual 2010 Golf Outing
The D.O.V.E. Fund will hold its annual golf outing at the South Toledo Golf Club on June 8th. Golf Committee Chair and D.O.V.E. Trustee, Robert Culp, said golfers for the 18 hole scramble will tee off with a shotgun start at 11:30am.
The D.O.V.E. Fund 2010 Trip to Vietnam
Led by Vice Chairman of Vietnam Projects, Fred Grimm, select members of the D.O.V.E. Fund will again journey to Vietnam in early 2010. The purpose of the visit will be continue to advance the humanitarian effort that is part of the D.O.V.E. Fund mission. "We will meet with government officials, visit schools, break ground for new projects and have a little fun along the way", says Grimm, also a past Chairman of the DOVE Fund. Accompanying Grimm on his 9th trip to Vietnam will be his wife, Jill, also a D.O.V.E. Fund Trustee. The group will meet in San Francisco on March 19 and will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City on the 21st.
From there the group will travel north to Hue where they will work on clean water projects, a new daycare center and the dedication of the Trieu Trung Elementary and the Ai Tu nursery schools. In addition, they will inspect the construction of a new medical center in Hai An and distribute scholarships to students at Quang Tri High School. Later, they will check on progress of an addition to the Trieu Thuong and Trung Hai elementary schools and pay a visit to the Mark Sathe School for the Blind at Cam Lo.
After nearly a week in Hue, it's on to Da Nang to meet with representatives from Global Village, then back on the plane for the flight north to Ha Noi and Ha Long Bay. Later on, the group will meet with officials from PACCOM. On March 31st, the delegation will fly to coastal Qui Nhon to look at future projects and visit the leprosy village in Qui Hoa.Then it's back to Ho Chi Minh city and the plane ride home on April 4th.
