2010 D.O.V.E. Fund Auction

AuctioneerPlans are underway as the D.O.V.E. Fund prepares for its 2010 annual fund raiser on Friday, August 20th.

The event will be held at the Pinnacle Banquet center in Maumee, the event will feature live entertainment and a cocktail hour where guests can browse among hundreds of both silent and oral auction items before sitting down to an elegant dinner. D.O.V.E. Fund Chairman, Bob Durbin will again emcee the evenings activities. Serving as guest auctioneers again this year will be Ohio TV celebrities Chrys Peterson and Jerry Anderson from WTOL.

Auction chair, Julie Oswald has been busy organizing this year's event. "We have such a wide range of unique auction items, says Oswald, "from Florida condo weeks to vodka from Hanoi, it's always fun to see how things shake out"  As in previous years, recent travelers to Vietnam have returned with unique items that will be available for bidding.  Vietnamese clothing, jewelry and silks will be on the auction block, along with wine, artwork and golf packages at several private clubs.  Tickets to sporting events and fine dining at local restaurants will also be available to the highest bidder.

"This is our most popular event., says D.O.V.E. Fund Chairman, Bob Durbin, every year we try to make this evening a little special" Durbin, an infantryman who served in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, says there are always little surprises on  auction night.  During the 2009 event, an inspiring video of the 2007 trip to Vietnam was shown along with a slideshow by Trustee and Vietnam vet, John Abbey.
