Golfers face record heat at D.O.V.E. Fund Golf Outing. Braving record heat in mid-90's, 130 golfers teed off at South Toledo Golf Club as the D.O.V.E. Fund hosted its 11th annual golf outing.
Former P.O.W. Speaks on Veterans Day
Over 200 guests packed the Pinnacle Banquet Center in Maumee, Ohio on Veterans Day to hear the inspiring story of Vietnam P.O.W., Porter Halyburton. Sponsored by trustees of the D.O.V.E. Fund and hosted by guest MC, Chrys Peterson, news anchor of WTOL in Toledo, Lt. Commander Halyburton spoke about the hardship endured and the lessons learned during his 71/2 years of captivity at the infamous Hanoi Hilton.
"From the Heartland" Minnesota filmmaker talks about the DOVE Fund
Since returning from Vietnam 3 years ago, Joyce Woodworth has been busy chronicling her experience while traveling with the D.O.V.E. Fund.
Woodworth, a television producer from Winona, Minnesota, traveled to Vietnam in 2008 with several veterans to learn how the D.O.V.E. Fund is bringing help to both the Vietnamese people and former soldiers of the conflict.
The D.O.V.E. Fund 2010 Golf Outing Report
For the second year in a row, the team of Denny and Doug Spencer along with John Hills and Dave Risley triumphed over the biggest field ever in the 10th Annual D.O.V.E. Fund outing.
Outlasting the weather and the competition, these veteran players used their vast tournament experience to skillfully master the tough greens at the beautiful South Toledo Golf Club.
2010 Vietnam Trip: The D.O.V.E. Fund Mission Continues
Select members of the DOVE Fund returned last month from nearly 3 weeks in Vietnam. Joined by Vietnam veteran, Gary Stocker and his wife, Linda, founders of the Bandage Brigade, a group formed to help ease the suffering of the leprosy stricken in Vietnam, the delegation landed in Ho Chi Minh City on April 20th.

In the summer of 2008, TV producer and filmmaker Joyce Woodworth accompanied a group of veterans as they returned to Vietnam. These
veterans are part of the D.O.V.E. Fund, an organization committed to
providing humanitarian assistance to the neediest areas of Vietnam. Former soldiers reveal the pain hidden for decades and an unusual process of healing
the invisible wounds of war.
The Hang Tran Story
My parents left Vietnam in the summer of 1979. My mother was nine months pregnant with me. My parents had paid the required amount of money several months prior to secure their position on board a tiny vessel leaving Rach Gia, their hometown, on the southern coast of Vietnam. They were given three days notice of their departure date.
